In memoriam: James Dunn (1939-2020)

În data de 26 iunie 2020 s-a stins din viață cunoscutul biblist James Dunn. Specializat în studiul Noului Testament, cunoscutul cercetător britanic a fost pentru mulți ani profesor în cadrul Departamentului de Teologie al Universității din Durham. Aria sa de cercetare a privit în mare parte tradiția biblică protestantă.

Fiind născut în data de 21 octombrie 1939, Profesorul Dunn a fost și pastor în cadrul Bisericii Scoției începând cu anul 1964. În 2002 a devenit Președintele Societății „Studiorum Novi Testamenti”. În 2006 a devenit memebru al Academiei Britanice.

Alături de alți cercetători ai disciplinei Noului Testament (ex: N.T. Wright sau E.P. Sanders) moștenirea teologică a lui James Dunn privește o nouă perspectivă asupra operelor pauline.
